BEFORE and AFTER ENLIGHTENMENT
Before enlightenment you sleep, walk, eat, drink, pee, poop, work, raise kids, have fun and pain, die.
After enlightenment you sleep, walk, eat, drink, pee, poop, work, raise kids, have fun and pain, die.
So, what is the difference?
Like for all body functions, you are thinking unconsciously : around 70,000 thoughts/day
That is: when you think, you are not aware that “I am thinking now ” .
Also, when we walk we are saying ” I am walking” and so on when you eat, read, have fun, etc..
If we have to think every time about what we do something, life will be impossible
Therefore: your mind – thoughts and feelings- is controlling you 24/7/365 in many ways such as putting you in the past and future all the time. Both of them don’t exist and in both of them you are just a thought, a virtual you, an illusion that the ego mind can manipulate.
You learned and practice of being conscious that you are thinking.
Therefore , by being aware of your thoughts and feelings, you are able controlling them.
This what meditation is all about: the practice of awareness.
Is it easy. NO
Is it difficult: NO
Good and common sense stuff are always hard to get and to master.
